WASHINGTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) — A 47-year-old pediatrician was arrested for sending sexual messages to a New Jersey high school student, the Warren County Prosecutor's Office announced Wednesday.

Dr. Moshe Markowitz, a pediatrician for Lehigh Valley Health Network in Pennsylvania, allegedly exchanged sexual messages with an under age girl he met online.

The two reportedly met on Omegle, a website that randomly pairs strangers through video call. Using the alias Steven Jones, Markowitz continued to send sexual messages over the messaging app Discord, according to prosecutors.

Law enforcement opened an investigation after a friend of the alleged victim reported the inappropriate relationship to a school resource officer at Warren Hills Regional High School in Washington, New Jersey.

Police raided Markowitz's Pennsylvania home on Thursday and confiscated his electronic devices.

Prosecutors charged him with child endangerment in Warren County. He faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
