NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- President Donald Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani sought a $20,000 per day salary for the work he is doing to challenge the results of the election, according to a report.

The former New York City mayor asked Trump's campaign for the five-figure daily salary, but the "request stirred opposition from some of Mr. Trump's aides and advisers," the New York Times reported, citing several sources familiar with the matter.

In an interview with the Times, however, Giuliani claimed he "never asked for $20,000."

"The arrangement is, we'll work it out at the end," he told the outlet, explaining that Trump promised to pay him after the court challenges he is currently mounting are resolved.

Were Giuliani to earn a $20,000 a day salary, he would be making more than "the top-of-the-line lawyers in Washington and New York who can charge as much as $15,000 a day if they are spending all their time working for a client," the Times noted.
