SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A house fire in Spring Valley killed at least five people and injured five more early Saturday morning, according to officials.
Firefighters are still searching for one other person who has not been accounted for.
The blaze broke out around 4 a.m. at a two-story home on South Lake Street, authorities said.
Firefighters struggled to enter the home due to poor conditions and were forced to conduct an exterior operation before entering, according to officials.
Two of the people killed in the fire were minors, authorities said.
The Red Cross will help find shelter and resources for those displaced by the fire.
