AMITYVILLE, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Suffolk County police discovered additional human remains in West Babylon, Long Island, following multiple arrests on Tuesday linked to the human remains found in a park last week.

The arrests were made at a house steps from Amityville's 9/11 Memorial Park—after police found more body parts at Bethpage State Park on Monday night, according to sources.

Suffolk County Police detectives were seen walking in and out of the house on a rainy Tuesday morning, hours after SWAT busted down the door overnight. No human remains were found during the search of the house, police said.

Bethpage State Park is roughly 10 miles west of Southard Pond Park in Babylon, where the first body parts were found last week.

Body parts from a man, 53, and woman, 59, —including the woman's head, leg and arm, and the man's leg and arms—were found in and around Southards Pond Park on Thursday morning and again on Thursday night.

The victims' names are being kept confidential as their relatives haven't been notified yet.

According to police, their last known address was the same location in Yonkers.

It's unclear what type of remains were found in Bethpage State Park, but investigators believe they're from the man and woman whose body parts were found in Babylon.

An investigation has led police to believe the two victims were dismembered in the home in Amityville before their body parts were scattered at different locations, sources said.

Police haven't said exactly how many people were arrested Tuesday.

Following a search on Tuesday, more human remains were found in a wooded area across 103 Lakeway Dr. in West Babylon, according to police.
