EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A woman sucker punched a Long Island nurse who wouldn't discharge her on Thursday evening, authorities said.
According to detectives, at 6:30 p.m., officers responded to Nassau University Medical Center located at 2201 Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow, where a registered nurse, 45, was performing her duties caring for April Gologorsky, 47.
Gologorsky allegedly became agitated when the nurse declined to process her discharge papers.
Gologorsky then struck the victim in the face with a closed fist, breaking her glasses, causing a cut to her face and substantial pain, officials said.
Officers placed Gologorsky under arrest without incident.
Gologorsky was charged with assault and criminal mischief. She will be arraigned when medically practical.
