ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- A 57-year-old man was arrested for allegedly setting two cars on fire at a Long Island home early Tuesday, according to Nassau County's Arson Bomb Squad.

According to detectives, just after 5 a.m., a 45-year-old-woman and a 56-year-old man were sleeping in the second-floor bedroom of a North Forest Avenue residence in Rockville Centre when they heard a loud noise and looked out their window.

They observed both of their vehicles, a 2018 Porsche and a 2014 Dodge, engulfed in flames, officials said.

Both victims exited out the house and observed that an unknown person had set the front door on fire.

Following a thorough investigation, John Courtien, 57, was located at the intersection of Guy Lombardo Avenue and Polk Street in Freeport and was placed under arrest without incident.

No injuries were reported.

Courtien was hit with several arson charges and four counts of reckless endangerment. He will be arraigned on Wednesday.
