NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said Monday night that the harassment allegations made by several women against Gov. Andrew Cuomo are "really disturbing," but he stopped short of saying if the lawmaker can no longer effectively govern.
Buttigieg was asked by Anderson Cooper on CNN's "AC 360" if he thought Cuomo was still able to govern New York considering so many of his Democratic peers are calling for his resignation.
"What I'll say is these allegations are really disturbing," Buttigieg said. "They are serious and they need to be investigated, as they are, and that investigation is under way."
Buttigieg's comments came just hours after White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters, "The president finds them troubling, hard to read. And every woman who steps forward needs to be treated with dignity and respect."
