NORTH HILLS, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- Police on Long Island are searching for a trio of men wanted in a home invasion that occurred on Monday morning, authorities said.

According to detectives, at 11:20 a.m., the three men dressed as utility workers wearing fluorescent jackets, pants, hard hats, gloves and face masks rang the doorbell of a Folie Court home in North Hills claiming to check on a gas leak.

When the home's caretaker, a 35-year old man, answered the door, the subjects forced their way in while brandishing a small black handgun.

Once inside, they located the homeowner, a 69-year-old woman, and threw her to the ground and held her there, officials said.

There were no serious injuries reported.
