The two men, Richard Rivera, 36, and Christopher Healy, 55, were arrested on April 23, Friday, at the Fountain Motel in North Bergen on an active warrant issued by the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, Secaucus Police Department announced.

“Vice activity will not be tolerated at our local hotels and the Secaucus Police Department will continue to work with our law enforcement counterparts to eradicate criminals who come to Secaucus solely to conduct their illicit activities,” Dennis Miller, Secaucus Police Department chief, said.

The joint investigation started in March with the Secaucus Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit working with detectives from the West New York Police Anti-Crime Unit and North Bergen Police Department. Along with the arrest, methamphetamine and gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) were seized.

Rivera was charged with possessing methamphetamine, GHB, and drug paraphernalia at the time of his arrest. During a search of Healey’s residence on June 1, detectives seized methamphetamine, GHB, suspected cocaine, Xanax, Adderall, Percocet, Viagra, Clonazapm, Ecstasy, Psilocybin Mushrooms, Oxycodone, and approximately three pounds of Marijuana, SPD announced.

“Drug activity and other criminal behavior at our local motels not only negatively impacts the people who stay there, but it also affects the quality of life of our community,” Peter Fasilis, North Bergen Police chief, said.
