NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Police are “imploring” Connecticut residents to lock their cars after a pricey Bentley was stolen from a driveway in Westport and later recovered in Queens.

The owner left the Bentley—a brand that usually retails for at least $200,000—running in their driveway around 3 p.m. Sunday as they went inside their home, Westport police said.

While inside the house, they saw several people drive off in the car, according to cops.

Westport officers located the vehicle “traveling at a high rate of speed” but decided not to pursue the driver, police said.

However, the vehicle was equipped with a tracking device, which pinged back to Elmhurst, Queens, cops said.

The NYPD recovered the Bentley and arrested two unidentified people who were in a second stolen vehicle at the scene, according to cops.

Westport police believe the drivers of luxury vehicles are being followed by would-be car thieves.

“Westport Police continue to implore individuals to lock their cars and homes,” the department said in a release Monday.
