NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New York City is set to sizzle through its second heat wave in as many weeks starting Tuesday.

The heat wave will last through the workweek and see temps surge into the mid-to-upper 90s, according to AccuWeather.

The National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for all five boroughs until 9 p.m. Wednesday, warning “hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat Illnesses.”

Mayor Zohran Mamdani said the city will open hundreds of cooling centers, as it did during the heat wave over the July 4 holiday. Roughly 50 outdoor pools will also be open daily, as will public beaches. There are also spray showers and "COOL vans" to help people beat the heat.

Cooling center locations are available at finder.nyc.gov/coolingcenters. Additional heat resources can be found at on.nyc.gov/CoolItNYC.

Highs will hit about 94 degrees in Midtown on Tuesday, but it will feel like the upper 90s with the humidity.

The most brutal day will be Wednesday, with a high of 98 and RealFeels over 100. The record for July 15 is 102 degrees, set in 1995.

Thursday will still be hot—about 92 degrees—but the humidity will let up some, AccuWeather said.

The heat wave should break by Friday, when highs will be at or near 90.

The weekend looks cooler, with highs in the 80s, but also stormier, forecasters said.
