NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Travelers in the New York City area won't have to worry much about weather this busy holiday weekend, but it will come as a letdown to those dreaming of a white Christmas.

There's no snow in sight for the five boroughs or its suburbs in the foreseeable future, continuing the city's snowless stretch. We're now closing in on 700 days without a measurable inch of snow.

Friday is brisk and chilly, with highs in the upper 30s during the day in Manhattan and lows set to dip to around freezing overnight, according to AccuWeather.

Conditions will warm to a high of 46 on Saturday, when it will otherwise be mostly cloudy. A bit of rain or drizzle will be in the area Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The warming trend continues Sunday, with a high of 48 in the forecast on a cloudy Christmas Eve.

Highs will likely approach 50 degrees in Central Park on Monday for Christmas Day. It will be dry and mild with clouds coming and going.

Highs are forecast to stay in the low-to-mid 50s most of next week. Rain may pop up Tuesday night into Wednesday amid the unseasonably warm temps, slowing down holiday travel.
