NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A blast of snow on Tuesday set a festive backdrop for Christmas Eve, but it looks like the NYC area will forgo a white Christmas yet again this year.
NYC and its suburbs got a coating to an inch of snow over about two hours on Tuesday morning, but the flakes had already cleared out by late morning.

That’s good news for travelers, who had to not only contend with the weather but a temporary, nationwide ground stop impacting American Airlines.
Tuesday is otherwise partly cloudy with a high of 38 degrees and a low of 27.

Wednesday—which is both Christmas and the first night of Hanukkah—will bring a mix of clouds and sunshine but no snow, according to AccuWeather. The high will be 36.

Travel conditions then look pretty good to end the week: It will be mostly cloudy Thursday, with a high of 36, before clouds clear for a mostly sunny Friday, when the high will be 40.

However, there is some rain in the forecast Sunday, when morning showers will grow more steady by afternoon.
Looking ahead, warmer temperatures are on the horizon. Highs are forecast to be in the 50s to start the week.
