NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The heat wave that has been gripping New York City this week is keeping things hot for a third and final day on Wednesday, before days of thunderstorms significantly drop temperatures.

Since Monday temperatures have felt like they were in the triple digits, and multiple heat records were broken Tuesday at spots near and around NYC. Newark Liberty International Airport and LaGuardia Airport hit 101 and 100 respectively, both smashing the previous record set in 1949. Islip on Long Island and Bridgeport, Connecticut, also saw record highs of 96.
