NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating after a 75-year-old woman died from her injuries days after a hit-and-run on the Upper West Side earlier this month, authorities announced Friday.

Just before 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, police were informed of a motor vehicle collision that occurred days earlier, on December 4, at approximately 5:06 a.m. at the intersection of Columbus Avenue and West 92nd Street.

A preliminary investigation determined that Gumercinda Narvaez was struck by a Ford van traveling southbound on Columbus Avenue.

The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene, according to the NYPD.

EMS transported Narvaez to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on Friday, Dec. 9, officials said.

There are no arrests and an investigation remains ongoing.
