Cam Reddish out for season with shoulder separation: Report

The Knicks have been shrouded in optimism in recent days, riding a three-game winning streak after blowing out the playoff-bound Mavericks on Wednesday night.

But they have reportedly been dealt some bad news on the injury front.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Cam Reddish's further evaluation revealed a separated shoulder, and the 22-year-old will miss the remainder of the season. Reddish was initially diagnosed with a right shoulder sprain after a scary fall following a blocked shot against the Kings on Monday, but he was sent back to New York for further evaluation, which revealed the separation.

Reddish, who was exiled to the bench for the early parts of his Knicks tenure after being acquired via trade from the Hawks, had finally seen his playing time increase in recent weeks, and had one of his best games of the season in a win against the Clippers on Sunday night, when he dropped 17 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor.

Over his last seven games, Reddish was shooting 47 percent from the floor and averaging just under eight minutes per contest.

Per Wojnarowski, Reddish will need roughly six weeks to recover, and should be ready for a full summer heading into next season.
