The Nets’ depth is being tested once again, dealing with multiple injuries after a COVID-19 outbreak earlier in the season. Kevin Durant is out 4-6 weeks with an MCL injury, and Joe Harris continues to hit obstacles in his rehab from ankle surgery.
Now, the Brooklyn sharpshooter is getting a second opinion on his injured ankle, which has experienced “setbacks” and “flare-ups” in the past week.

Chris Haynes first reported the news on Tuesday night’s TNT broadcast of the Nets loss to the Lakers, and head coach Steve Nash confirmed it to reporters after the game.
Harris, who hasn’t played since November, is flying out to Indianapolis for that second opinion, which Nash called “standard,” adding such precautions “happen all the time.”
Harris has played in just 14 games this season, but was shooting 46.6 percent from downtown, an asset that Brooklyn is sorely missing, with Harris typically providing an option to spread the floor for the likes of Harden, Irving and Durant. Harden hinted last week that Harris could be back after the All-Star break, but his recent setbacks make it clear that he is far from a potential return.
