According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, Cam Reddish wants to be traded out of New York after just a half season with the Knicks, who acquired him via trade last season.
Reddish, per Berman, wants to be a bigger focal point of a team, a similar reason to why he wanted a change of scene from Atlanta. Many Knicks fans wanted that for Reddish, but the former 10th overall pick averaged just 14.3 minutes per game with Tom Thibodeau's group, even less than the 23.4 minutes per game he was averaging with the Hawks before the trade.
But Reddish, who turned 23 on Thursday, quickly denied the rumor on Instagram when a fan commented on a birthday post from the Knicks that Reddish had just requested a trade.
"When I do that?" Reddish asked. "Y'all be trippin."
The Lakers reportedly have interest in Reddish, which could make things interesting given Los Angeles' potential role in a three-team deal to help the Knicks acquire Donovan Mitchell. But if Reddish is moved, he seems to be insisting it won't be because he asked for it.
