According to SNY NBA insider Ian Begley, the Knicks and Clippers have had contact about a potential trade for one of the biggest stars expected to be available this offseason.

Per Begley, New York and Los Angeles have "had contact" about a potential trade for Paul George, though it is still unknown if George will indeed be made available via trade. Recent reports indicated that the Clippers were gauging the market for George, an eight-time All-Star who was an All-Star again last season.

George, 33, has his share of injuries in the not-so-distant past, having last played more than 60 games in a season back in the 2018-19 campaign. This past season, George played 56 games, averaging 23.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from downtown.

George's 3-point shooting would be a welcomed addition for a Knicks team that was clearly lacking in that department during their second-round loss to the Heat. He is set to make just over $45 million next season, and becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2025.
