Profiles: New York Giants' Day 3 picks in the 2021 NFL Draft

After selecting WR Kadarius Toney on Day 1 (No. 20 overall) and nabbing EDGE Azeez Ojulari (No. 50) and cornerback Aaron Robinson (No. 71) on Day 2, the Giants enter Day 3 of the 2021 NFL Draft with five selections - one in the fourth round and two each in the fifth and sixth.

Of course, with GM Dave Gettleman trading down in both Rounds 1 and 2 (after never trading down at all in his previous drafts), Big Blue may end up adding or subtracting some of that capital - but we've got you covered with whomever they select below:

No. 116 overall (Round 4): LB Elerson Smith, Northern Iowa
Big Blue went the FCS route with its lone fourth round pick, having now selected three straight defensive players after taking Toney in the first round. At 6-foot-6 and 252 pounds, Smith's debut in New York will be his first game action since his junior year, as the Missouri Valley Conference postponed its football season until the spring, which Smith didn't participate in after deciding to declare for the NFL Draft. He was an all-conference selection as a junior, when he was among the best in the FCS with five forced fumbles, tied for the most in the FCS, and ranked sixth in the nation with 21.5 tackles for loss and tied for fourth with 14 sacks.

No. 196 overall (Round 6): RB Gary Brightwell, Arizona

After a long break, the Giants grabbed Brightwell, a tailback that moved to the position after spending time at receiver and on special teams with the Wildcats as a freshman. He moved into the backup role at running back in his sophomore and junior seasons before becoming the starter last year. He finished his college career with 1,305 rushing yards and nine touchdowns and averaged 5.3 yards per carry, while logging 121 receiving yards.

Brightwell comes in at 5-foot-11 and 218 pounds. He was an honorable mention on the All-Pac-12 Team in 2020.

No. 201 overall (6th round): CB Rodarius Williams, Oklahoma State

Williams stands at a flat six feet and 189 pounds, and brings plenty of durability to East Rutherford. Even with a COVID-shortened season, he set a school record by making 48 straight starts for the Cowboys, and was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team as a senior after leading the team with seven pass breakups.
