Trickeration? Not on the Birds’ watch.

The Giants went three-and-out on their first two drives Sunday while watching the Eagles score 10 points seemingly at-will – so when they faced a fourth-and-8 at the Eagles’ 29 on their third drive, they brought in the almost-automatic Graham Gano for a 46-yard field goal attempt.
Except they didn’t, because it was a fake…and unfortunately, not a good one, as punter Jamie Gillan picked up and had nothing to do with the ball except get crushed by Zech McPhearson for an 11-yard loss, giving the Birds the ball at their own 40.
Actually a great defensive play by the Birds, as Christian Elliss, the back man on the defensive formation, saw the tight end leak out and blanketed him, and Milton Williams slid out to spy Gillan, allowing McPhearson, a DB, to drop the hammer on the Scottish Hammer.
It also goes as a sack, the Eagles’ 69th of the year, which brings them one closer to the 1985 Bears’ all-time record of 72.
Luckily (maybe?) for Big Blue, the Birds went three-and-out and punted on the ensuing drive.
