Teen boy arrested for shoving NYPD traffic agent writing ticket in Hell's Kitchen

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested an 18-year-old boy seen on camera shoving a female traffic agent to the ground as she tried to write him a parking ticket in Manhattan earlier this month.

Officials on Tuesday said that Efrain Burgos is facing second-degree assault charges for the incident that occurred the morning of Dec. 2.

Burgos lives just blocks away from 10th Avenue near West 49th Street, where the incident happened.

According to police, the 63-year-old traffic agent was writing Burgos a ticket for his illegally parked white Cadillac SUV when the two got into a dispute that escalated when Burgos shoved her to the ground.

The NYPD released surveillance footage that shows Burgos in line at a deli before running outside toward the traffic agent.
