California's Great America announced on Thursday that beginning Saturday April 22, 2003, a new chaperone policy is being put in place in order to help keep guests safe.

The policy is being put in place due to incidents that have occurred over the past two years, the park shared on social media.

Those age 15 & younger will be required to be accompanied by a chaperone (at least 21+) after 4pm. One chaperone may accompany no more than 10 guests at a time. The policy also notes, "In addition, the chaperone must accompany their party during entry, remain inside the park during their visit, and be available by phone throughout their stay. Guests ages 15 years old or younger who are found inside the park unaccompanied by a chaperone will be subject to ejection. This chaperone requirement applies to all California's Great America ticket and season passholders."
