The 109th Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California features Pac-12 champions Utah & Big Ten powerhouse Penn State. Each team's marching bands took the field at half time and Utah's performance turned a lot of heads with a cover of Green Day's 1994 hit "Basket Case".
Twitter reacted with mostly surprise at the song choice, but most were happy to hear it.
Meanwhile, in Green Day world, Billie Joe Armstrong & Mike Dirnt's cover band The Cover-Ups recently wrapped up a surprise New Year's Eve gig at West Hollywood's famed The Viper Room as the band preps their 'Nimrod' 25th anniversary release on January 27th.
