Odd New Year's Eve traditions

New Year's Eve celebrations are pretty much going to be at-home affairs this year, but in years past communities around the country have really gone off the deep end when it comes to celebrating.  In Times Square, they've been dropping the ball for years....but here are some others that are definitely unexpected.

In Plymouth Wisconsin, they drop a big block of cheese. It looks like this is still scheduled to happen this year at the Plymouth Arts Center.

Plymouth isn't the only city celebrating a hometown product. In Bethlehem, PA, they drop a giant peep. In Mobile, AL it's a moon pie. In Boise, ID, it's a potato of course!

In Prairie Du Chien, they drop a dead carp at midnight. They get a little fishy in Eastport ME, where they drop a sardine.

The creepiest has to be the oversized flea that they drop in Eastover NC.

And the most lively has to be the real live drag queen that they lower to the ground in a giant red high heel in Miami Florida.

Those all sound pretty fantastic, but this year I'm just hoping I don't drop my champagne.

Cheers everybody.
