Jason Aldean says he got the opportunity of a lifetime last month as he was invited to play golf with former president, Donald Trump.

Jason shared he was presented the opportunity through a “friend of a friend,” based off he and wife, Brittany Aldean’s outspoken, conservative views. With similar political stances and a shared enjoyment of golf, Jason said it was a recipe for success as they “hit it off” while on the course, even though Jason got his “putt” kicked.

“He’s pretty good, he definitely beat me by a lot!” Aldean told Audacy’s Rob + Holly of Trump’s golf game. “He was giving tips all day and unfortunately he actually didn’t start giving tips until about the 11th hole or something, I [said] ‘I wish you would’ve started this back at hole #1.’”

Jason admitted to being a little starstruck ahead of the day, but relaxed right into it as he got to know the former president and even found out he knows a few of his songs.

“I had never met him,” Jason explained, admitting he was a little nervous. “I was like, ‘Does he expect me to be good? Because if he’s expecting to come out and be good, he’s going to be really pissed off after like, a couple holes.’”

He continued, “He knew [my] songs and he was like, talkin’ about names of songs and different things so it as pretty neat.“

Trump will have some new songs to learn as Aldean readies to release the long-awaited, second installment of his double album, Georgia, releasing April 22. The first installment, Macon, released in November 2021.

Jason is currently promoting the first single from the new project, “Trouble with A Heartbreak,” which includes a ‘Yellowstone’ inspired music video. Watch it here.

Georgia is available for pre-save now and is set to release April 22.
