The coronavirus pandemic has given us an abundance of time to catch up on the shows we’ve been putting off for quite awhile now.

As we social distance and quarantine, we’ve been given the opportunity to fill the void of going out and socializing with riveting, award-winning television.

If you don’t know where to begin your binge-watching journey, may we suggest some of the 72nd Primetime Emmy Award nominees?

If there’s anyone that knows about good television, it’s TV critics.

All the shows your friends have nudged you to watch for months are available at your fingertips thanks to streaming services.

Remixing the original comic series by Alan Moore and David Gibbons, HBO’s nine-episode version is set in the alternate reality where vigilantes are considered outlaws. Taking place over 30 years after the events of the original comic and starring Regina King and Don Johnson, the series explores the racial divides after a white supremacist group kills much of the Tulsa, Oklahoma police department sans two that remain with the force and ensure laws are passed that allow cops to conceal their identities to prevent them from becoming further targets.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Hailing from “Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, the series follows a newly single housewife who discovers she has a knack for stand-up comedy. But not only is she good at it, she tries to make a career out of it. Entering its fourth season, Mrs. Maisel and her unrelenting assistant, Susie Meyerson, embrace the success and downfalls of fame while continuing to challenge gender roles in society during the 50s and 60s. Midge’s independence and cleverness have turned this comedic drama into an instant hit.

The Mandalorian

Schitt’s Creek

The small-town comedy co-created by father-and-son duo Eugene and Dan Levy focuses on a wealthy family who loses their entire fortune. They’re left with one asset, Schitt’s Creek, the town Johnny Rose bought for his son as a joke. There’s nothing funnier than watching the privileged Rose family take a bite of humble pie while assimilating to their new normal and becoming part of a community for the very first time.

The Crown

Entering its fourth season, the historical drama based on Queen Elizabeth’s decades-long reign of the British monarchy, continues to captivate audiences with forbidden romances and political rivalries. The cast changes as the drama chronicles the queen’s life from the 1940s to more modern times with season 1 and 2 starring Claire Foy as the Queen. Olivia Colman, who has received 13 nominations this year alone, takes the crown in season 3 and 4.

The Morning Show

If you’ve always wanted to know what goes on behind-the-scenes of your favorite morning show, the Jennifer Aniston. Steve Carell, and Reese Witherspoon-fronted drama explores just that.
