Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge, whose recent Lollapalooza set was called “cringe-worthy and repulsive” by one attendee who apparently didn’t enjoy the band’s well-known brand of locker room humor, has gone all-in with his love for the group.

If anyone is going to go nuts over a harsh review, it’s going to be the blink-182 boys, and after sharing a festival-goer’s negative take on their headlining set at Chicago's Lollapalooza music festival in Grant Park over the weekend, it’s obvious their fans are happy to join in on the fun as well.
It seems local reporter Ella Narag of The Daily Illini found the performance "cringe-worthy and repulsive," calling their set "unworthy" of being the event’s closing act -- and even had some choice words about how the longstanding friends and bandmates interact with each other on stage.
“Why are two older men, aged 52 and 48, respectively, who have wives and children, making jokes about sleeping with the other’s mother?” Narag asks. “The crude humor may have landed with some, but to continue throughout the hour-and-fifteen-minute-long set was a bit much. It’s a question that was never answered. One would think maybe they’d stop and the joke may stand as a one-time thing. It wasn’t. The entire performance, in between songs, DeLonge and Hoppus made quips sticking to the vulgar theme."
“Unfortunately, their songs, lyrics and stage presence were not enough to make up for their excessively crude commentary,” the review also states.
Frontman Tom DeLonge, after getting wind of the harsh words, shared a portion of the review to his Instagram which reads, “Blink-182’s performance distastefully closes Lollapalooza”, and quoted the mom jokes comment in his caption while adding, “oh my god, I’m dying hahaha f***, I love this band.”
Fans, friends, and family were also enjoying the commentary, with bassist Mark Hoppus’ wife Skye commenting, “Dying. Love This so much,” and another follower adding, “Tell [me] you’ve never listened to blink without telling me you’ve never listened to blink.” Take a look at all the hilarious comments in Tom's post above.
