Candidate for New Jersey Lieutenant Governor, Diane Allen, joined The Rich Zeoli Show guest hosted by Dawn Stensland on the future of New Jersey’s political landscape under her ticket with Gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli.

“Jack wanted to change the way Lieutenant Governors and Governors work together. Pretty much, Lieutenant Governors have been sort of quietly in the background and you’re never all together sure what they’re doing.”

Allen continued, “Jack tells me that he wants me to be a full partner in all of this and that we’ll work together. He’ll be Governor, no question, but I would play a role in trying to make sure that we cover all bases.”

Allen told Stensland it would be a possible scenario where she would be in the role of or similar to a Secretary of State in New Jersey. Focusing on the importance of strong leadership from the top to help all people in New Jersey.

“Let's be clear, you can’t be a leader unless there are people following you. What happens with so many people is that they decide they’re going to be leaders and they put themselves out there as a leader, and then they mandate things and tell people what they have to do. That’s not getting folks to follow you, that’s getting folks to be really angry about what you’re doing.”

Allen concluded, “A leader works with people. A leader helps those who are within his or her sphere come to see that the best way to do things is what the leader is offering and help them understand the reasons.”
