Pennsylvania AFL-CIO President Rick Bloomingdale On Amazon's Counter-Union Efforts
In a rare instance, Dom Giordano has fallen on the side of the unions in a labor dispute. For a long while now, employees for Amazon have been trying to unionize, and have faced major pushback from the giant corporation. Rick Bloomingdale, President of Pennsylvania's AFL-CIO, joins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the almost Orwellian tactics that Amazon uses on its employees, such as the company's structure allowing rare face to face interaction for employees concerning Human Relations situations. Also, Bloomingdale reveals that Amazon automatically tracks its employees using a technology that tells whether or not an employee is arriving late to work.
Then, Bloomingdale notes other troubling aspects of Amazon's treatment of their employees, explaining that in a recent vote regarding unionization there's some evidence that voters were intimidated to not vote in favor of a union.
Andy McCarthy On The MLB's Continued Virtue Signaling
Andrew C. McCarthy, columnist and Fox News contributor, returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss the MLB's decision to bow to the demands of the Left and the results of the Derek Chauvin trial. First, Giordano and McCarthy discuss the MLB and China situation, as news broke over the weekend that Rob Manfred wasn't the determining factor in the MLB's decision to remove the All-Star game from Georgia, rather it being the corporations that forced his hand. Then, Giordano and McCarthy discuss the Derek Chauvin trial, explaining that many think this is the end of the saga, laying out what's more to come in serving justice in the fallout of the tragic death of George Floyd.
SaveJersey.com's Matt Rooney On NJ Gubernatorial Candidate's Radical Comments About Catholics
Matt Rooney of SaveJersey.com returns to the Dom Giordano Program to discuss an article he wrote for his online publication discussing remarks made by Republican New Jersey gubernatorial candidate Phil Rizzo about Catholics. Rooney uncovered that in a 2011 promotional video, Rizzo, a protestant pastor, said that Catholics are 'in bondage to their sin.' Rooney and Giordano discuss how deeply rooted Catholicism is in New Jersey state politics, with Rooney noting that a third of New Jersey voters are Catholic.
Due to the massive pull of Catholics in state politics, Rooney and Giordano explain that information like this, even about Republicans, is absolutely necessary because it will only hurt the party in a general election.
