Mayor Kenney Looks To Erase Italian Culture
Today, Dom led off the Dom Giordano Program by angrily discussing the decision by the city of Philadelphia to rename Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples’ Day, which he considers another attack on Italian-American heritage. Giordano uses this as an opportunity to expound the conversation into an overall dialogue about cancel culture and the continued erasure of historical figures from public discourse. Then, Giordano discusses the upcoming impeachment trial and the coming battle between Montgomery County attorney Bruce Castor, who is defending Trump, and Representative Madeleine Dean of MontCo, who is leading the impeachment prosecutorial team.
Biden's Choosing Unions Over Science
In the second hour of today’s show, Giordano honed in on the necessity of re-opening schools for in-person school. Giordano plays back questioning by Fox News’ Peter Doocy, who asked Press Secretary Jen Psaki when we’ll see the ‘green jobs’ that’ll replace the jobs lost in the Keystone Pipeline cancellation. Instead of answering the question, Psaki asks Doocy instead to prove that the Biden administration won’t provide the jobs… which is impossible. Dom uses this as an opportunity to turn the discussion back to schools and the continued dodge by the Biden Administration when it comes to returning to in-person schooling. Giordano also plays back a clip from WH Communications Director Kate Bedingfield on MSNBC, where she noted that CDC guidance will determine whether or not schools can open, although the CDC Director already said that teachers could return to teaching safely even without being vaccinated.
Chuck Peruto Announces Candidacy For Philadelphia District Attorney
Chuck Peruto Jr., top attorney from Philadelphia, joins the Dom Giordano Program to announce his candidacy in the District Attorney race, as a Republican, against incumbent Larry Krasner. First, Peruto explains why he’s willing to leave his day job to work for the public, telling that the city has gotten to such a point where he believes he has no other option. Then, Peruto explains why his experience as a criminal defense attorney would apply well to what needs to be done in the city, explaining how his experience in the field differs from current DA Krasner.
