Governor Ed Rendell Endorses Carlos Vega For Philadelphia DA

Former Governor of Pennsylvania Ed Rendell rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss his endorsement for Carlos Vega in the District Attorney race in Philadelphia, as Vega takes on controversial incumbent DA Larry Krasner. First, Giordano asks Rendell, being a former Philadelphia District Attorney himself, why he is choosing Vega over Krasner. Rendell explains that Krasner has done some positive things, but doesn’t recognize or is unwilling to do the first and most important part of a DA’s job, to protect the citizens of the city. Then, Rendell explains his history with Mr. Vega, telling how Vega performed during Rendell’s reign as DA. Also, Rendell explains past shortcomings by the Krasner administration, also explaining why other Democrats, similarly to Rendell, refuse to endorse the incumbent.

Keith Hartzell On Small Business Staffing Shortages At The Shore

Ocean City Councilman Keith Hartzell rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss staffing shortages down the shore in the wake of Coronavirus. First off, Giordano and Hartzell discuss the closing of Wawa in Somers Point, a shocking revelation for a business such as Wawa. Then, Giordano and Hartzell discuss the root causes of the pain that small business owners are facing as they try to fill staff, with Hartzell explaining the negative effects of New Jersey’s heightened minimum wage on the situation as a whole. Also, Hartzell explains how the stimulus payments and lack of J1 workers also contribute to the short staffing, noting that due to teenagers returning to schools near the end of the season, J1 workers are an absolute necessity for employers to make it all the way through the summer season.

Alan Dershowitz On The Crisis In Israel

Professor Alan Dershowitz rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to dissect and discuss the continued strife in Israel and Palestine and his new book, Case Against the New Censorship. Dershowitz lays out the current situation that we’re seeing play out, explaining it partially started with The Abraham Accords, a joint statement made between Israel, the US, and the United Arab Emirates, that was the first public normalization of relations between an Arab country and Israel since 1994. Then, Dershowitz explains the stance of the Biden administration, pontificating whether or not the Biden administration will be as anti-Israel as the Obama administration as he faces pressure from groups like Black Lives Matter, which has taken up a pro-Palestine cause. Finally, Dershowitz ties the conversation around Israel and Palestine to his book regarding censorship, pointing to multiple instances of anti-Semitism on social media that does not face the same heightened censorship that conservatives have become familiar with.
