Join 1210 WPHT and Travis Manion Foundation for 'Operation Legacy - Heroes Home'

OPERATION LEGACY – HEROES HOME is a home rehabilitation project, in partnership with the Travis Manion Foundation where Audacy partners come together to rebuild homes for veterans and families of fallen.

Audacy Philadelphia and its six Philadelphia market stations including: B101 (WBEB-FM), KYW Newsradio 103.9 (KYW-FM), 94 WIP (WIP-FM), BIG 98.1 (WOGL-FM), 1210 (WPHT-AM), and 96.5 (WTDY-FM) through an ongoing partnership with the Travis Manion Foundation (TMF), will unveil its most recent Operation Legacy Services Project at a ribbon cutting ceremony in May of 2023.

The most recent renovation is the home of United States Marine Corps Veteran Kris Giuranna. A Montgomery County native, Kris graduated from North Penn High School. Shortly after, he enlisted in the Marine Corps, inspired to serve his country after the 9/11 attacks. He served as a combat infantryman from 2003-2012 – completing two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.

After being caught in multiple explosions during wartime, Kris suffered many losses of close friends in combat and narrowly escaped death and serious injury himself. Following his three combat deployments, Kris spent time recovering at Tripler Military Medical Center Hawaii, determined not to succumb to injury or PTSD and battling the stigma that shatters and destroys many veterans’ lives. Kris recovered and completed his service in the Marine Corps in Washington D.C. – serving at both the Pentagon and the White House.

Despite disabilities suffered during his service to our country, Kris works diligently to ensure his wounds from the military do not take over his life.
Kris focuses on helping others. He used his time in D.C. to start volunteering a significant amount of time mentoring children who lost a parent or sibling in the military and continues to do so today. He is currently being trained to be a Character Does Matter mentor with the Travis Manion Foundation.

After the Marine Corps, Kris bought a fixer-upper home in Hatfield. He’s a single dad of his teenage daughter, Bella. Kris works as a crane operator and mentors a local Gold Star son. Among the house’s most immediate needs included: a new roof, new siding, windows throughout the home along with interior and exterior painting needs.

Window Nation, the Presenting Sponsor of this Hero’s Home project, installed brand new windows throughout the home; providing Kris and his family with the highest quality and finest selection of windows that are both aesthetically pleasing and provide comfort in the home.

Kris also received a brand new and much needed roofing and siding from Impriano Roofing. Jack Impriano and his team served Kris with the highest quality of workmanship and experience. Benjamin Hoffman and his team from Main Line Pro Painting, in partnership with Sherwin-WIlliams, delivered the home with the highest quality of professionalism, attention to detail and customer service one expects from their painter. The Giuranna home received top quality interior and exterior painting by Main Line Pro Painting with all paint products donated by Sherwin-Williams. The Giuranna home received top quality interior and exterior painting.

Kris, his daughter Bella and his fiancé are now living under a safe roof and a home that is secure and fit for a hero, thanks to: Window Nation, Impriano Roofing and Main Line Pro Painting. ABOUT TRAVIS MANION

A Doylestown native, Travis graduated from LaSalle College High School, where he was an All-American wrestler and all-league in football and lacrosse. Travis graduated with honors from the Naval Academy in 2003. Like his father, Col. Tom Manion, Travis joined the USMC. He served two tours in Iraq. WHAT IS THE TRAVIS MANION FOUNDATION

Travis’s late mother Janet Manion began the Travis Manion Foundation to inspire service and assist veterans and families of the fallen. TMF unites and strengthens communities by training, developing, and highlighting the role models that lead them. TMF develops programs, training opportunities, and events designed to empower veterans and families of the fallen, and then inspire them to pass on their values to the next generation and the community at large. Many of these programs are TMF’s “Operation Legacy Service Projects.”
