Dom Giordano, WPHT host and former teacher, has dedicated much of his daily show toward parents who are taking it into their own hands to push back against school boards that have a negative impact on their children. This has culminated in a weekly podcast on education, Readin', Writin', and Reason, which has allowed wonderful relationships to develop between Giordano, educators, and parents throughout the country who are speaking out against overbearing school boards.
First, Dom Giordano welcomes in multiple guests into the 1210WPHT studios to discuss the launch of a new program to counter bullying in the city of Philadelphia. Councilman David Oh, MMA Fighter Sam Oropeza, and 13-year old Maria Klara worked together to launch a program in the city that will teach martial arts and self-defense for free to children throughout the city of Philadelphia. The guests explain the program in-depth to Dom, telling of the incredible positives that come with self-defense training. Giordano asks whether this program could be extended to other at-risk individuals in Philadelphia such as the elderly, and asks why there has been pushback in instituting a similar program for Philadelphia police officers.
Then, Megan Brock, organizer with Parents Have The Right To Know, rejoins the Dom Giordano Program to discuss why she's now being sued by the Bucks County School District.
