CHICAGO (670 The Score) -- A special week of golf is coming up in Chicagoland.
The 70 top golfers in the FedEx Cup standings meet at Medinah Country Club for the BMW Championship next Thursday. From the BMW, the top 30 golfers will be determined and then play to win the FedEx Cup in Atlanta the next week.
Over the past 20 years, Medinah has hosted PGA Championships twice -- in 1999 and 2006 -- and the 2012 Ryder Cup that saw a final-round European comeback to win the Cup from the U.S. The Chicago area last hosted the BMW Championship in 2017 at Conway Farms in Lake Forest. This is the first time Medinah has hosted the event.
Awarded to the winner of our event since 1923, the J.K. Wadley Trophy bears the names of the game's icons -- Sarazen, Hogan, Snead, Palmer, Nicklaus, Woods.Who will win the 2019 #BMWCHAMPS next week and earning his place in golfing history? pic.twitter.com/dHrEudhIkh
