(670 The Score) The Bears have declined to extend qualifying offers to safety DeAndre Houston-Carson and long snapper Patrick Scales, making both players free agents.

This decision was made official at the start of the new league year Wednesday afternoon. They join a list of 13 players from the Bears' roster who are officially free agents.

A sixth-round pick of the Bears in 2016, Houston-Carson had played in 32 games with the team. Scales joined the Bears during the 2015 season, playing in 21 games. He missed the entire 2017 campaign due to a torn ACL suffered in the preseason.
