(670 The Score) Bears nose tackle Eddie Goldman informed the team that he'll opt out of playing the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported Tuesday morning.

Goldman, 26, is the first known Bears player to opt out of playing this season. The $4.75 million of guaranteed salary that Goldman was owed for 2020 will be pushed into next season.

A five-year veteran, Goldman has played in 67 career games for the Bears, serving primarily as the team's nose tackle. He had 29 tackles and one sack in 15 games in 2019. Without Goldman, the Bears will have to rely on a committee to fill the nose tackle position.

Bears veterans were set to report to training camp Tuesday.
