GLENDALE, AZ. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Sunday will be a day Chiefs offensive lineman Nick Allegretti will never forget, and it will have nothing to do with his team winning Super Bowl LVII.
Allegretti’s wife, Christina, gave birth in the early hours to twin girls back home in Chicago, a team official confirmed to the Associated Press. Allegretti was able to watch everything unfold on FaceTime from the lobby of the team hotel while the rest of the Chiefs slept ahead of their game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Allegretti, a Chicago area native, attended Frankfort’s Lincoln-Way East High School and went on to play four years at the University of Illinois. He was a seventh-round draft pick of the Chiefs back in 2019.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
