(670 The Score) Bears chairman George McCaskey on Monday disputed former Pro Bowl center Olin Kreutz’s revelation that the organization offered him a $15-per-hour job in 2018 to be an offensive line instructor.

“I’ve learned over the years to take just about anything that Olin says with a grain of salt,” McCaskey said at a news conference to address the Bears’ future after he fired general manager Ryan Pace and coach Matt Nagy earlier in the morning. “And I look forward to hearing that story again. I hope he includes it in his Hall of Fame induction speech.”
McCaskey was then asked directly if Kreutz was being dishonest.
“That’s the way it is sometimes with Olin,” McCaskey said. “You don’t get the whole story. Olin knows (what) the story is.”
Kreutz declined the job offer, as he first explained on the Parkins & Spiegel Show on Friday.
"The offer didn’t shock me," Kreutz said Friday. "The way they approached it didn’t shock me."
Kreutz called former offensive line coach Harry Hiestand and Pace to confirm that he had his original story right, he said in a follow-up interview on the Parkins & Spiegel Show on Monday. They confirmed the $15-per-hour offer was made as part of a standard offer for instructors, Kreutz said.
"If that man would've said that to my face, we would've had a problem," Kreutz said of McCaskey calling him a liar.
McCaskey didn’t comment any further Monday other than his two brief comments.
