(670 The Score) The Bears have added another key figure on their defensive front, reaching a three-year deal with two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Grady Jarrett on Monday afternoon, a source confirmed.
The deal is worth up to $43.5 million and includes $28.5 million guaranteed. The NFL Network first reported the news.
Jarrett, 31, was released by the Falcons earlier Monday in a salary cap-clearing move. He had 2.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss in 17 games in 2024.
Jarrett has 36.5 career sacks in 10 NFL seasons, all of them in Atlanta. He was a fifth-round pick of the Falcons in the 2015 NFL Draft. Jarrett earned his Pro Bowl honors in 2019 and 2020.
He projects to step into a key role as the Bears' three-technique defensive tackle, a position they’ve struggled to solidify in recent years.
The agreement with Jarrett was the latest move in a busy Monday for the Bears, who earlier in the day struck deals with center Drew Dalman and pass rusher Dayo Odeyingbo in free agency.
