Backup quarterback Nathan Peterman threw one pass, an incompletion, while Fields was out. Fields then returned to finish the game and threw a touchdown pass on the Bears' final offensive drive. He was 14-of-21 for 152 yards and two scores through the air while adding 15 carries for 95 yards on the ground. Though the Eagles extended their lead to 25-13 while Fields was dealing with cramps, he wanted to return to action.

"It was important," Fields said. "Any chance I get to play, I want to be out there with my guys. I know they fight. They're the only reason I play. I play for them and God and really nobody else."

Fields has dealt with cramping during other games this season, including in a loss to the Falcons in late November. Fields didn’t receive an IV before the game Sunday, citing the frigid weather for his reasoning.

After this issue, Fields now intends to receive an IV before each game remaining in the season. The Bears (3-11) host the Bills (11-3) next Saturday at Soldier Field.
