(670 The Score) Bears quarterback Justin Fields made sure to commemorate the occasion in proper fashion after the organization’s new regime earned a win Sunday in its debut.
After Chicago upset San Francisco at a rain-soaked Soldier Field, Fields handed out game balls to first-year coach Matt Eberflus and first-year general manager Ryan Poles in the postgame locker room. Eberflus and Poles were hired in late January after the Bears cleaned house following a 6-11 season in 2021.
“Two game balls,” Fields said. “One to the head coach, first W of many. Right over here, great GM, yessir.”
Fields’ gesture came as Eberflus also shared a heartfelt postgame message with his players.
“You got mental and physical stamina,” Eberflus said. “So when you get people in the second half, you got them right where you need them.”
