LAKE FOREST, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A young Bears fan got a special birthday gift Tuesday -- a trip to the team's training camp.
The Bears players towered over Tellyah Stringfellow, 11, on the practice field, but they let her take the lead to break the huddle.
Advocate Children's Hospital set up the visit for Stringfellow, who was born with a congenital heart condition. She was given the VIP treatment, meeting players and even taking on receiver Darnell Mooney in several rounds of rock-paper-scissors.
Mooney won, but Tellyah still walked away with an autographed Bears helmet and other gifts from the team.
“It was amazing seeing her on the field,” Stringfellow's mother, Tameka Kilpatrick said. “This experience, we’ll never get this experience again. To see her out there with the players, we are blessed.”
