(670 The Score) It doesn’t sound like the Bulls teammate whom star guard Zach LaVine has called the “MVP” of the team is going anywhere.

The Bulls have told interested suitors that veteran forward Thad Young isn’t available in trade, Kevin O’Connor of the Ringer reported. Some league executives are still wondering if the Bulls are serious or posturing to drive up Young's value, O'Connor added in his report. His future with the Bulls is a lingering question leading up to the trade deadline on March 25. Young, 32, has been terrific for the Bulls this season, but he also doesn’t fit their rebuilding timeline cleanly, leading to speculation they could trade him for assets that better fit their window to compete at a higher level. If Young were to be available, he'd be one of of the best trade chips on the market and could fit in well with essentially any championship contender.

Young is averaging 12.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists while shooting 60.9% from the field in 30 games, all off the bench. He also closes games for Chicago. As LaVine has drawn more attention in his All-Star season, Young has become another fulcrum of the Bulls’ offense, often operating out of the middle of the floor in pick-and-rolls with LaVine and then spraying the ball to teammates to create quality scoring chances.

Young is under contract through the 2021-'22 season.
