(670 The Score) The Cubs have acquired right-hander Matt Festa from the Rangers in exchange for cash considerations, the club announced Thursday.
Festa, 31, was recently designed for assignment by Texas. He posted a 5.70 ERA in 19 appearances split between the Mets and Rangers in 2024. He had one poor outing for the Mets before joining the Rangers, for whom he posted a 4.37 ERA. Festa has a 4.60 ERA in five MLB seasons.
In a corresponding move Thursday, the Cubs designated infielder Mile Mastrobuoni for assignment. He hit .219 with one homer in 118 games across two seasons for the Cubs.
