Cubs activate closer David Robertson from injured list

(670 The Score) The Cubs on Wednesday activated closer David Robertson from the injured list ahead of their game against the Pirates in the evening.

Robertson, 37, had been on the injured list with a designation, a sign that it was COVID-related. He has a 1.50 EA and is 5-for-5 in save chances in 11 outings this season. Batters are hitting just .077 against Robertson this season. He had been on the injured list since May 9.

In a corresponding move, Chicago optioned right-hander Mark Leiter Jr. to Triple-A Iowa. He has a 6.57 ERA in five appearances, including three starts, for the Cubs this season.
