(670 The Score) Cubs infielder David Bote suffered a separated left shoulder on a slide in Chicago’s 10-2 win against Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon, manager David Ross said.

Bote will hit the injured list, and he’s expected to have a lengthy absence. The Cubs didn’t immediately detail how long Bote will be out, as he’ll be further evaluated.

Bote is the latest in a long string of Cubs players to be plagued by injury. Starting second baseman Nico Hoerner is on the injured list with a hamstring strain, and infielder Matt Duffy has a lower back strain. First baseman Anthony Rizzo has also missed the past four games with back tightness.

Bote is hitting .194 with five homers, 23 RBIs and a .607 OPS in 49 games this season.
