(670 The Score) The Cubs are cycling through yet another hitting coach.

Greg Brown won’t return to his role as hitting coach in 2023, a source told Bruce Levine of 670 The Score on Friday. The Athletic Chicago first reported the news. Brown is was offered another job with the Cubs but turned it down to pursue other opportunities with different organizations, the source said.
Cubs minor league hitting coordinator Dustin Kelly is expected to be promoted to become the team's hitting coach at the big league level.
Brown is leaving the role after one season on the job. His exit comes after the Cubs ranked 22nd in MLB in runs per game (4.06) and tied for 17th with a .698 OPS.
Prior to joining the Cubs, Brown had been a Tampa Bay Rays minor league hitting coordinator. With Brown out of his role, the Cubs will now be on their fifth hitting coach in the past seven seasons.
