Ortega, 31, hit .241 with seven homers, 35 RBIs and a .688 OPS in 118 games in 2022.

Marquez, 23, hasn’t pitched in a game since 2020 due to a string of injuries. He was sidelined this past season due to left shoulder surgery.

Vizcaino, 25, was on the restricted list this past season after he failed to report to spring training.

In other roster news, the Cubs avoided arbitration with right-hander Adrian Sampson and right-hander Rowan Wick by agreeing to terms with them on 2023 contracts. The Cubs also tendered contracts to four arbitration-eligible players in outfielder Ian Happ, infielder Nico Hoerner, infielder Nick Madrigal and right-hander Codi Heuer.

The Cubs’ 40-man roster now sits at 37 players.
