Cubs place OF Clint Frazier on 10-day injured list with appendicitis

(670 The Score) The Cubs have placed outfielder Clint Frazier on the 10-day injured list with appendicitis, they announced Friday ahead of their game against the Pirates in the evening.

Frazier is hitting .143 (3-of-21) with a .488 OPS in 10 games in his first season in Chicago. His placement on the injured list is retroactive to Wednesday.

The Cubs recalled infielder Alfonso Rivas from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move. Rivas, 25, was hitting .539 (7-of-13) in three games for the Iowa Cubs this season.

A left-handed bat, Rivas hit .318 with a .797 OPS in 18 games for the Cubs in 2021.
